Our Workshop

The Push The Limit workshop is an engaging, developmentally appropriate experience designed specifically for children aged 2–5 years.

Delivered on-site at your childcare centre or preschool, this interactive 60-minute session introduces young learners to empathy, inclusion and respect in a way they can genuinely understand.

Grounded in lived experience and guided by early childhood principles, this workshop helps children recognise ability over limitation and difference as something to value — not fear.

What Children Experience

The workshop combines storytelling, guided discussion and hands-on activities to create meaningful learning.

Children are gently introduced to the idea that:

• Everyone’s body works differently
• Assistive equipment supports independence
• Fairness does not always mean sameness
• Kind and respectful language matters
• Differences strengthen our community

Activities may include:

• Exploring mobility using children’s wheelchairs
• Visual awareness activities with specialised glasses
• Sensory activities using blindfolds
• Learning about braille with alphabet blocks
• Participating in boccia (a Paralympic sport)
• Understanding how a cane supports mobility

All activities are structured, supervised and delivered in a safe and positive environment.

Alignment with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)

The Push The Limit workshop is intentionally designed to align closely with the Principles of the Early Years Learning Framework for Australia.

High Expectations and Equity

The workshop reinforces the belief that all children are capable of success, regardless of ability or circumstance.

Children are encouraged to:

• Develop empathy and perspective
• Recognise social barriers
• Understand fairness
• Value different abilities

Educators are supported in strengthening inclusive practice and promoting equitable participation for all children.

Respect for Diversity

Children belong to families, cultures and communities that shape their understanding of the world.

This workshop supports educators in fostering respect for diversity by helping children:

• Celebrate differences
• Challenge stereotypes
• Develop understanding through experience
• Build confidence in inclusive behaviour

Inclusion becomes part of the centre culture - not just a concept.
